I can't believe it's already been two months since our sweet baby Gavin came into our lives. What a wonderful time it's been and we are reminded every day with just how blessed we are. January 9th was his two month birthday, and yesterday was his two month check up. The down side was that he had to get 4 nasty shots...but the upside was that he got an A+ check up from our pediatrition! Gavin now weighs 13.2 pounds and is 24 inches long! He is 90th percentile in both height and weight so he is perfectly proportioned. We have been thouroughly amazed at the strength that Gavin is showing, and in the few moments with the doctor, he could even see it. He said don't be surprised if he starts to roll over or even crawl sooner than most. He feels he is on the fast track plan! LOL! We go back for another check up in two more months and by that time Gavin will be eating solid foods!

Here are some things we have learned about our precious boy....
*He is sleeping in his own room now. I was sad that his time in our family heirloom cradle had come to an end...but he is doing great in his room and mommy and daddy are sleeping better now too!
*On average he is waking up every 4 hours...however, we've had some nights recently where he's slept a 5 hour stretch, a 6 hour stretch, even an almost 8 hour stretch!!!
*He LOVES tummy time and shows great, great strength in his upper body.
*He loves to kick and often when he lays on his back it looks like he's riding a bicycle.
*He could win a burping contest....on average he burps louder than most grown men.
*He spits up just about every time he eats....after talking to our doctor we realized this is totally normal, but on average we go through about 6 or 8 burp cloths in a day. We constantly keep a bib on him.
*He's just about smiling on command....Mommy and daddy have gotten smiles but we know he is on the verge of smiling at everyone.
*He knows our voices and if someone else is holding him he will search the room for our voice.
*He LOVES bath time and is so calm and loves the water.
*He does great in the car.
*He has his mommy and daddy wrapped around his little finger..... ;)
We receieved some great news this week. The adoption finalization court date has been set! We originally thought it would be March before we were assigned a court date....but we got the news that our date has been set for February 23rd! We are THRILLED about this news and we are counting down the days for this to become 100% official! We know how special the day of his birth was....we can't help but think that the finalization day will be even more special.
