12 months....1 year!?!?!

Yes, I know...I'm late on the monthly update.
On Gavin's one year check up he was 23.4 pounds (65th percentile) and 31 inches tall (90th percentile). He had a fantastic check up and we are just beyond blessed to have a healthy and HAPPY child! Gavin isn't walking yet...but we know it will come in due time. He has been pulling up and standing on his own for months now, so we know he will be walking before we know it. Gavin now has 8 teeth. He has all 4 front top teeth and all 4 front bottom teeth. He is a fantastic eater and is fully on table food now. He will eat just about anything you put in front of him. He LOVES my homemade mashed potatoes, loves cheese grits with an egg on top, still loves any kind of red sauced italian food...and ADORES mandarin orange segments. He's a great self feeder...although we constantly struggle with him getting enough from a sippy cup. He just drinks so much more when we hold it. So, we are constantly working on that. Gavin isn't clearly saying any words yet on his own....but mommy and daddy definitely know his own language. :) he has this certain laugh that he gives when he REALLY loves a certain food. We definitely know the difference in his cries (hurting, mad, frustrated, needy). He started daycare a few weeks ago and its been an adjustment. However, he's doing great and we are thrilled at how quickly he has gained the praise of his teachers. Gavin LOVES to shut doors. It's probably his favorite thing to do. He could sit and swing a door open and shut for hours!!! The same with cabinet doors too. Santa might be bringing a play kitchen for our little guy. :) Then he won't be messing with my kitchen cabinets. LOL.
We just love our little guy more and more every day. He warms our hearts, makes us smile, and more and more thankful with each passing moment that God brought this special boy into our lives!!! We love you sweet Gavin!!!
