The love of my life, Jason Oliver and I are on the track to become parents! In vitro fertilization is basically our only option at having biological children. After two failed IVF cycles we have shifted the focus to adoption! I use this blog as a form of therapy. Sharing our story helps me cope...keeps our friends and family informed...and I've found it helps others as well!
March 2009 - marked 1 year of "trying" and requested tests run. HSG test revealed both fallopian tubes fully shut. First appointment with fertility specialist.
May 1, 2009 - surgery to remove both fallopian tubes and correct uterine septum
July 13, 2009 - start BCP (birth control), IVF cycle is officially started.
August 26, 2009 - egg retrieval - 25 eggs!
August 31, 2009 - embryo transfer, only 2 embryos from the 25 eggs
September 11, 2009 - received news that I'm not pregnant. Hardest day of my life.
January 25, 2010 - appointment with Dr. to plan IVF cycle #2
January 29, 2010 - begin acupuncture treatments
February 23, 2010 - procedure to drain ovarian cyst. Begin BCP (IVF round #2 is under way!)
March 31, 2010 - Retrieval day! 18 eggs were retrieved!
April 5, 2010 - 2 Embryos transfered - one mid grade, one non grade worthy
April 14, 2010 - blood pregnancy test - negative.
June 10, 2010 - received a call about a possible adoption opportunity
June 15, 2010 - submitted adoption profile to potential birth family
June 19, 2010 - met potential birth family
June 21, 2010 - received news that we have been selected by the birth family! Baby is due in November.
DUE DATE: November 21, 2010
Gavin David Oliver came into this world on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 12:30 pm weighing 7 lbs 6 oz!!!
November 11, 2010 - we brought baby Gavin home!!!!
June 8, 2011 - FINALIZATION! Gavin is 100% an Oliver!!!
